We are happy to release IdFix 1.2 (Indesign to Fixed layout epub conversion tool). using this tool you can convert indesign document to interactive fixed layout epub.

How to install IdFix?

1.      Run setup.exe and follow the instruction

4.      If you get any error message write query to vickypatel2020@gmail.com

5.      Pagelog.txt file generated in application path for page track.

How to use ePubFix?

           

Open epubfix.exe from installation folder or click Programs -> ePubfix -> ePubfix.  (Window 7 user:  right click epubfix.exe and select “run as administrator”)

1. Select pdf file from local drive
2. Select book cover image (should be jpg file format) : Optional field
3. Enter book title : Optional field

(If book title field is empty, pdf title will be treated as epub title)

4. Enter book author : Optional field

(If book author field is empty, pdf author will be treated as epub author)

5. Check Read Aloud option if required (optional)
6. Select Audio voice (optional)
7. Check kindle fire if you required mobi output (optional)
8. Insert crop value if you want crop all pages from PDF (note: insert pixel value)
9. Check word coordinate option for accurate text position value ( for kids / cook books)
10. Select page image DPI value
11. Click convert button
12. Epub file will be generated and placed in pdf file path.

Windows 7 User Setting

Please follow-up the below instruction if you used window 7 operating system.

1. Select epubfix.exe
2. Right click and select properties
3. Select “Compatibility” tab
4. Check “Run this program as an administrator”

           

Minimum Requirement from raw source file (PDF)

1. PDF should be text searchable (not image pdf)

2. Font should be embed format in pdf

3. From indesign use export option "Interactive PDF" if raw source developed by  

    Indesign.

5. PDF should be face off page (not landscape page)

6. Don't use ligature character fonts in PDF

7. Remove all hidden text from PDF

ePubFix will generate 80% to 90% of text accuracy based on raw source, you need to do some manual correction for complex text layout using adobe dreamweaver or some other visual html editor.

Co-ordinates Correction steps

1. Extract epub files

2. Open html files in adobe dreamweaver

3. Correct text position visually

4. Delete unnecessary text block

5. Save file, and compressed into epub

IdFix 1.0 Release (Indesign to Fixed layout ePub Converstion Tool)

We are happy to release IdFix 1.0 (Indesign to Fixed layout epub conversion tool). using this tool you can convert indesign document to interactive fixed layout epub.

 IdFix Features:
1. Convert active indesign document to fixed layout epub
2. Convert HTML widget to interactive html content in epub
3. Convert adobe edge animate widget into interactive content in epub file
4. Custom controls for change text content to image
5. Table contents are converted as HTML table content

How to use IdFix?           

            Open Idfix.exe from installation folder or click Programs -> IdFix -> IdFix.exe

1. Open indesign doument in Indesign CS6 application
2. Enter/Choose epub output folder
3. Select book cover image (optional)
4. Enter book title : Optional field

(If book title field is empty, indesign document title will be treated as epub title)

5. Enter book author : Optional field

(If book author field is empty, indesign document author will be treated as epub author)

6. Click convert button
7. Epub file will be generated and placed in output folder path.

 Using “Set image” / “Set Text”

If you want set text frame as “image”, select text frames from indesign document and click “Set image” button. Some way you can change that text frames as text content using “Set Text” button

HTML Widgets

Use “Insert HTML” option for inserting html widget into document, this widget will be converted into output epub file

 Using Adobe Edge animate widget

Choose “Animate deployment package” for publishing from edge animate, and export as edge animate widget file (.oam file)

Insert edge animate widget file (.oam file) using “Place” (Ctrl+ D) option in indesign. This animated widget will be converted as animated content in fixed layout epub file.
